Two awards in Australia – Jury praised accessible textile repair
FabPatch received two outstanding honours at the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards. The Jury praised the Finnish-designed repair solution for making textile repair accessible, affordable and immediate for diverse users. Our Australian partner, Sisko Sisters, accepted the awards.
FabPatch was first named Best in Class in the Fashion and Textiles category, followed by Best in Discipline, the highest honour in the discipline. The Awards Ceremony took place at ICC Sydney on Friday 9 October.

The Jury’s comments capture the idea behind FabPatch: making repair possible without special skills or tools.
“The Jury recognises FabPatch as a brilliantly simple yet high-impact intervention that removes traditional barriers to textile repair through its innovative rub-on application requiring no heat, tools or sewing skills. The solution was commended for addressing the significant challenge of textile waste by making repair accessible, affordable and immediate for diverse users.”

The Jury was also particularly impressed by the material variations, including Merino patches for wool garments and stretch materials for activewear, demonstrating thoughtful design consideration.
Established in 1958, the Australian Good Design Awards are Australia’s longest-running international design awards. Every project is evaluated by an independent Jury of Australian and international design experts against three core criteria: Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact.
Warm congratulations to Sophie and Megan for their outstanding work in Australia! It is wonderful to see this Finnish innovation and the Australian team’s work receive such significant recognition.
